Ex-Boy Band member from LFO Rich Cronin was on the Howard Stern Show today. He spoke about being discovered, dealing with Lou Pearlman’s fetish of boys, dating Jennifer Love Hewitt to dealing with having a stroke due to treatment to Leukemia.
I’d have to say that Rich Cronin came off as such a great guest today. If you knew him only for being in the band LFO you would think this guy was a douche, but from hearing his interview on the Howard Stern Show you would realize that he is just a normal guy who got thrown into the limelight. He basically signed his life away when dealing with Lou Pearlman…as did The Back Street Boys and N’Sync which is the reason why Lou Pearlman is now in jail. Seems the tales of Lou Pearlman being interested in young men continue to make the rounds as today we heard right from Rich that Lou wanted to “take care” of him. And of course those who let Lou get what he wanted got rewarded with gifts and cars and Rich would witness certain guys get special treatment.
One good thing that happened to do LFO’s success was that Rich dated Jennifer Love Hewitt for some time. Back in the day Jennifer was a hot piece of ass, and is still pretty today but nothing like she used to. Least he got to tag that for some times before things went sour…but from the sound of it Rich still has some high regard for Jennifer. Jennifer ended up dumping Rich after she gave him a promise ring…he was one of several people who got a promise ring. Oh yea…when she was on set for a movie she was photographed going out with up to 7 different guys while Rich was at home in Boston.
Rich battled through Leukemia and had to go through a bone transplant as part of his treatment. Suffering a stroke must have scared the shit out of him, but at least he is well now and getting back into entertainment.
